Master Artist

I have always been intrigued by fire and its power to change material and surfaces, especial wood. Occasionally over the  years I have incorporated it into my work but, now find myself returning to its use more intensely in a series of charred wall and free-standing sculptures. The challenge in using it is how to control it for the desired outcome. Most of the time the works are constructed and then carefully torched with a spray bottle nearby to stop unwanted burning. However, this doesn't ensure success and you are left with a decision to either accept the results or try again.
